Press Release

Bussigny, Switzerland - Camptocamp, known for their expertise in open-source software and IT infrastructure, specializes in delivering tailored solutions that empower businesses to manage complex systems with efficiency. Their services include, among other things, consulting, implementation, and support for Kubernetes clusters, helping their customers achieve robust, scalable, and efficient IT operations. Their mission has always been about providing reliable and high-performing Kubernetes services to their clients. Camptocamp is Kubernetes Certified Service Provider (KCSP), Kubernetes Training Partner (KTP), member of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and the Linux Foundation.

Chkk is the Upgrade Copilot for Kubernetes and hundreds of Add-ons. Chkk helps enterprises avoid 500% Extended Support fees for AWS EKS, Google Cloud GKE, and Azure AKS while preventing 'Forced Upgrades' that disrupt business operations. Enterprise customers rely on Chkk to upgrade their Kubernetes clusters smoothly—eliminating disruptions and costly extended support.

When the opportunity emerged for these two companies to explore alignment, it quickly became clear that both stood to gain. For Camptocamp, it was a chance to evaluate how their Kubernetes management could reach new levels of efficiency. For Chkk, it provided a real-world context to demonstrate the value of their platform within a mature Swiss organization.

The aim of the PoC was to evaluate Chkk’s capabilities in derisking Kubernetes upgrades, preventing breakages, and accelerating migrations. The results exceeded expectations, with key outcomes such as:

  • Cuts Down Research Effort; Saves Time and Resources: Generates relevant release notes, identifies hidden dependencies, incompatibilities, breaking changes, and recommended versions.
  • Standardizes Upgrade Process and Maintains a System of Record: Integrates internal steps and guides into Chkk Upgrade Plans, enhancing knowledge transfer, compliance, audits, and forensic analysis.
  • Enhances Operational Safety: Provides up-to-date safety, health, and readiness checks before, during, and after upgrades.
  • Provides Comprehensive Coverage with Detection of EOL Software: Artifact Register reflects all clusters, add-ons, and their versions, informing about existing and upcoming EOL to ensure early upgrades and compliance.
  • Significant time savings: Kubernetes upgrades were reduced from 4 weeks and 10 FTE-days of effort to just 2 weeks and 2 FTE-days.

"As Kubernetes experts, we are always looking for tools that make the day-to-day operations of Kubernetes more efficient and reliable. The Kubernetes ecosystem continues to evolve, and solutions like Chkk are a welcome addition—helping operators streamline upgrades, mitigate risks, and ensure smooth migrations. Our PoC confirmed that Chkk significantly reduces the complexity and time required for Kubernetes upgrades, making it a valuable asset for organizations running production workloads at scale," remarks Mathieu Bornoz Head of IT Infrastructure at Camptocamp.

“Chkk has helped many enterprises upgrade their Kubernetes clusters safely and avoid the 500% extended support costs from cloud providers. With support for hundreds of add-ons, Chkk ensures smooth upgrades to prevent business disruptions. We are excited to partner with Camptocamp and help enterprises leverage Chkk Upgrade Copilot.”        - Awais Nemat, CEO and Founder, Chkk

Together, the companies are setting new benchmarks in Kubernetes management, proving that collaboration and innovation can drive exceptional results. We welcome the Kubernetes community to contact Camptocamp or Chkk to learn more and request a demo of the Chkk Upgrade Copilot.
