Camptocamp Recognized as GeoServer Core Contributor

The GeoServer Project Steering Committee (PSC) has officially recognized Camptocamp as a Core Contributor to the GeoServer project.
This acknowledgment highlights Camptocamp’s sustained engagement in developing, maintaining, and supporting GeoServer, as well as its active role in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the project.
Continuous Involvement in Core Areas
Camptocamp has been contributing to GeoServer and GeoTools for many years, providing code, documentation, and community support. The company’s involvement covers all responsibilities expected from Core Contributors — from release management to development and user assistance.
- Security and Releases
Camptocamp participates in GeoServer’s security and release management processes, helping ensure high-quality and stable releases.
Participation in security assessment and resolution is an important ongoing commitment to the sustainability of the community that is under increasing pressure and regulation. By offering front-line assessment of security vulnerabilities Camptocamp directly assists the community and is in position to protect and support customers.
- Development and Maintenance
The team contributes to both GeoServer and GeoTools through features, fixes, and modernization work.
Recent contributions include:- A Google Cloud Storage backend for GeoWebCache
- A PMTiles datastore
- Updates to GeoTools dependency management (Bill of Materials)
- Migration support for Java 17 and Spring 6 during the GeoServer 3 sprint
Camptocamp is also leading the development of GeoServer Cloud, the cloud-native evolution of GeoServer.
- Community and Support
Camptocamp regularly reviews pull requests, participates in discussions, and assists users on mailing lists and forums.
The team contributes to community sprints and technical workshops, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across the project.
