Camptocamp and IGN Partnership Wins 2024 Acteurs du Libre Award for Best Public-Private Collaboration

We’re delighted to announce that Camptocamp, alongside our partner IGN (Institut National de l'Information Géographique et Forestière), has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Acteurs du Libre Prize in the category of Best Public-Private Collaboration. This recognition highlights the power of Open Source collaboration in driving innovation and creating impactful solutions.
A Celebration of Open Source Excellence
The Acteurs du Libre Awards, presented annually at the Open Source Experience by the CNLL (Union of Free Software and Open Digital Companies), honor initiatives that significantly contribute to the growth of the free and Open Source software ecosystem. The awards celebrate projects, companies, and organizations across Europe that embody the values of transparency, openness, and collaboration.
Winning the Best Public-Private Collaboration category underscores our shared commitment with IGN to advancing the use of Open Source solutions in public administration.
Our collaboration centered around the development of La Géoplateforme and its showcase application, cartes.gouv.fr, which provide innovative tools for creating, hosting, and sharing geospatial data. IGN, supported by Camptocamp, also implemented the GeoNetwork-UI project to simplify metadata navigation and make it accessible to all users, including non-experts. Through contributions to Open Source code, deployment support, and a collaborative governance model, this partnership has enhanced accessibility, interoperability, and usability for geospatial and public data, benefiting both the Open Source and public administration communities.
